The Perfect Stage Crew TV Show

Producer's Report

Day Ten

The Perfect Stage Crew is theater's newest and best reference for crew sponsors and technical directors; available from the publisher, Allworth Press, or at Amazon.com.

It is Wednesday, isn't it? Abby, John and Kevin went north to set lights and fasten down the set, Abby installed the Fresnels that will shine on the painted drop, and Kevin helped her determine the placement of the sunset special. There was some debate over whether we could shoot the special through the window or not, but it looks great so we're borrowing or renting an extension pipe and sticking the light up.

Our subtle painted wainscot is a little too subtle, but the shades are right and we're sticking with 'em. We got the big cabinet into place and decided it should go "wood," probably dark brown. The underwindow cabinets will probably go gray. The unbuilt cashier's station will probably match the big cabinet.

This means there's a lot of scenic painting to do, and it turns out D******* isn't available. I would not be too upset if a new scenic artist magically showed up at noon tomorrow to help bail us out. Any ideas?

We killed the red on the floor a little, it's better but needs to be aged a bit more.

John and Abby are reporting early (10:45) tomorrow for a trip to Kinetic Artistry, everyone else it's 12 - 9.

Some outtakes are available on the website, and most of the bio photos are up.
